Rahul Giri
SNSF Postdoc.Mobility Fellow
The Ohio State University
I was born in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, India. In 2016, I completed a B.Sc. (Honours) in Chemistry from Acharya Narendra Dev College (ANDC), University of Delhi. In 2017, I joined the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal for my M.S. studies in the research group of Prof. Alakesh Bisai. During this period, I qualified CSIR-JRF and GATE examinations.
I obtained my Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Bern, Switzerland in February 2025, in the group of Prof. Dmitry Katayev. My doctoral research focused on the development of novel reagents and their activation via photoredox catalysis to access elusive chemical space.
In April 2025, I joined the research group of Prof. Shiyu Zhang at The Ohio State University, USA, where I am currently exploring the interface of inorganic and organic chemistry, with an emphasis on electrochemistry as a synthetic tool. In May 2026, Rahul was awarded Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) Postdoc.Mobility fellowship, which now funds his work on 18F chemistry.
